A steady presence through life’s most complex seasons

There are moments in life when things feel uncertain, overwhelming, or deeply personal in a way that’s hard to articulate.

Whether you’re navigating something within yourself or within your relationship, the work is rarely simple—and it deserves care, attention, and a space where you don’t have to carry it alone.

Owner | Therapist | Collaborative Divorce Coach

I’m Alison Graft, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Hinsdale, Illinois, with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples through some of life’s most meaningful and difficult transitions.

I’ve always been someone who is deeply curious about people—how we think, how we relate, and how our experiences shape us. Over time, that curiosity grew into work that I feel genuinely connected to and grateful for.

It’s a privilege to sit with people in moments that are often private, complex, and sometimes painful—and to help them begin to make sense of what they’re going through in a way that leads to clarity and movement.

Much of my work has focused on relationships and couples therapy, and I’ve completed extensive training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps couples strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and better understand the patterns shaping their relationship dynamics.

Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals and couples navigating a wide range of experiences, which allows me to bring both steadiness and perspective into the room. I aim to create a space where you can be real, feel understood, and begin to sort through what’s happening—at a pace that feels right for you.

How I Work

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded.

I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being fully yourself—without needing to filter or perform—and where your experience is met with both understanding and thoughtful guidance.

At the same time, I’m not just here to listen.

I’m an active partner in the process. I bring clinical insight, perspective, and at times, a directness that helps move things forward when you feel stuck.

There’s often a balance in the work:

  • slowing things down enough to truly understand what’s happening

  • while also helping you move toward meaningful change

Working with Individuals & Couples

I work with both individuals and couples navigating a range of life experiences—including relationship challenges, major transitions, grief, and the emotional impact of health-related diagnoses.

Through individual and couples therapy, I help clients better understand themselves, improve communication, and move through difficult seasons with more clarity and steadiness.

A significant part of my work is also supporting couples at critical turning points in their relationship. This includes those who are trying to repair and reconnect, as well as those who feel uncertain about the future.

In addition to therapy, I offer more structured, forward-focused support through collaborative divorce coaching—helping individuals and couples navigate separation with clear communication, emotional support, and thoughtful decision-making.

This combination of therapy and coaching allows me to meet people where they are—whether they are seeking healing within a relationship or clarity about what comes next.
